We have been disturbed and deeply moved by the many injustices that have received media attention lately and the knowledge that there are thousands more whose stories have not been told.
Recoup was born in New York City and we are proud to be a part of a vibrant, diverse community. Since the start of the COVID-19 shutdowns we have been spotlighting small businesses and using our platform to highlight companies that could use support during these difficult times.
We want to show our continued support of the #blacklivesmattter movement and our NYC community by spotlighting some black-owned restaurants and bars in NYC. We believe in the power of connection, the importance of community and the responsibility to be there for our neighbors and those in need.
Many of these restaurants are open for takeout/delivery currently or can be supported through gift card purchases/gofundme sites. Circumstances are continuously changing for these businesses, so check back if your new favorite spot isn’t up and running yet.
